Here is a list of fun links for Parents and Kids.
PBS Kids - fun printables and games featuring your favorite PBS Kids characters.
Peep and the Big Wide World - play games and learn about science with Peep, Chirp & Quack. Don't forget to sing along with the show's great theme song! (Don't you just love a good theme song?)
The Toymaker - This amazing artist's web site has paper toys you can print, fold, glue and play, all for free! Perfect for a rainy day when you hear the familiar "I don't have anything to do..."
Jitterbug: Music for Hip Kids - Do you and your kids ever just need to dance? Well, check out this kids music site for music and videos from some of our favorite artists like the Barenaked Ladies, They Might Be Giants, Dan Zanes and Lori Berkner.
Pigeon Presents! This site has games, coloring pages and all sorts of good stuff featuring Mo Willem's hilarious characters, like Naked Mole Rat, Elephant & Piggie and of course the Pigeon (whom I am told, under no circumstances is he to be allowed to drive the bus). When you move the cursor over the button for the parents page you hear "Grown up stuff, bor-ing!"
The 39 Clues: Anyone reading this series will love the web site. It has information about upcoming books, games (with prizes!) and message boards you can chat with other Cahills about The 39 Clues.
Encyclopedia Britannica: Need help with homework? Looking for a biography of Gallileo or just wondering where thunder storms come from? The encyclopedia can help. This link requires a username and password. Stop by the library to get the password for your free full access.
Nobel Prize Games for Kids - these are games based on Nobel Prize winning research - it is way cooler than it sounds. They have a blood typing game, a laser challenge game and my favorite - diabetic dog (you learn about diabetes while taking care of your diabetic dog). These would be perfect for supporting a homeschooling science curriculum.
